They just got back from the Rodeo ~ Chediski Fire!
Just a week before the Rodeo/Chediski Fire, these young men and 'woman' were up at 10,000 feet at a fire in New Mexico gasping for air. Then they came home and attacked the Chediski western flank of the fire. Since they had been at high altitude, once they got down to our elevation they were able to crank and kick ... ! It's not enough that these kids are out there working hard, but these kids cut wider and longer fire breaks quicker then any of the other crews in that area. Talk about competition! They live for it!
Yes the 4th person from the left to the right in the front row is a WOMAN Hot Shot Fire fighter! And I hear that she is always having to prove herself. I also hear that she can out hike most the guys!
